Love Your Vulva: Fashion at the Rally for Women's Health, Plus the Line for Christian Marclay's "The Clock"

Look at the coat I saw on this gal at the Rally for Women's Health, that was hastily organized two weeks ago to protest the draconian cuts the Republican Congress want to make to Planned Parenthood. In other words, they want to cut it completely. (Sign the petition via the link!) I showed up to add my body to the masses, and ended up getting some great images, most of which are on my Facebook page.

Two weeks before that I rode by bike to the Paula Cooper gallery to see the Christian Marclay piece "The Clock," over now, but running on the weekends at this gallery for 24 hours. See the BBC video on the piece here. Look at the lines though! Around the block--luckily, I spotted a friend near the front who graciously allowed me to wait with him. (During our 90 minutes inside, I saw time-related clips from American Gigolo, Wall Street, Modern Times, Smithereens, Sean Connery-era James Bond's, It's Complicated, etc etc.)

I'm reading Wells Tower's Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned, a collection of engrossing and sharply written short stories about disaffected men in nature, about a nature full of disease, about the inherent impulse of men to rape, pillage and kill, or at least profoundly misjudge the situation at hand.
